Lowcountry Maritime Society announces Spring Boat Launch

Lowcountry Maritime Society, a non-profit dedicated to revitalizing coastal Carolina’s maritime culture, is holding its 2nd Annual Spring Boat Launch on Saturday, April 30 at 2pm.

As part of the Charleston In-Water Boat Show at Brittlebank Park, the event will launch 12 new Bevin Skiffs built by students at Simmons-Pinckney Middle and Sanders-Clyde Creative Arts Schools.

“Our boat building curriculum continues to deliver a blend of maritime culture, teambuilding exercises and STEAM-based learning,” shares Prentice Brower III, executive director of Lowcountry Maritime Society. “We’re extremely proud of our students’ determination and can’t wait to celebrate their hard work on the Charleston waterfront.”
