Lower Richland High School Library open this summer

June 5, 2017
School may be out for the summer, but the library at Lower Richland High School (2615 Lower Richland Boulevard) is in session. Thanks to a partnership with Richland School District One, Richland Library is once again occupying the space from June 12 – August 3 in an effort to offer expanded resources, services and programs to the entire Lower Richland community.

Doors are open from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., MondayThursday to children, teens and adults. During that time, our staff are providing access to:

  • Fresh picks of books, music and movies
  • Computer access
  • Holds pick-up
  • Storytimes
  • Social workers

Special programming is also planned, so be sure to join us for the following events:

  • 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 20 for Healing Force – a rousing celebration of African culture through storytelling, dancing and song.
  • 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 25 for Animal Architects with Riverbanks Zoo – exploring how animals construct their homes, build their communities, and influence the ecosystems that they live within while meeting a few animal ambassadors.

It is the second year that Richland Library has worked with Richland School District One to keep the library at Lower Richland High School open over the summer after launching the pilot program in 2016.
