June 12, 2023

The Laurens Police Department (LPD) recently announced a motorcycle and hot rod benefit ride.

The event will be held on June 25th with the starting point at the Public Square in Laurens. Registration will open at 8 am and ride out time is 9 am. The final destination is Caesars Head State Park.

“We have launched various innovative initiatives to engage our community, with a special focus on our youth,” announced Police Chief Keith Grounsell. “The LPD is proud to introduce our first-ever youth camp, providing an empowering and educational experience for children in rising 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. We rely on the generosity and support of our community to make this camp possible. We anticipate hosting 30 to 40 enthusiastic participants. Your donations are crucial in enabling us to offer this transformative camp experience for our youth. We extend our heartfelt gratitude in advance to all who contribute, as you are making a positive impact on the lives of our future leaders.”

The minimum donation per bike is $25 and the first 100 participants will receive a LPD challenge coin. All proceeds will benefit the LPD Kids Summer Camp.
