LS3P’s Melissa Watness elected new AIA SC Midlands Director

LS3P congratulated Architect, Melissa Watness, AIA, NCARB, who was elected as the new Midlands Director for the American Institute of Architects (AIA) South Carolina. Watness is located in LS3P’s Myrtle Beach office and is currently volunteering as the President of the AIA Grand Strand Chapter. Prior to her current positions, Watness also volunteered as the Director of Community with the AIA Grand Strand Chapter.

Graduating from Savannah’s College of Arts and Design with both a bachelor and master’s in architecture, Watness has gained experience in multiple sectors, with K-12 Education being her most prominent. Over the last 20 years, Watness has developed the skills to produce an opportunity from the initial design phases through construction administration until its final walk through. A few of her most recent projects are the completed Boys & Girls Club of the Grand Strand and the currently under construction Dual-Branded Marriott High-Rise located at 21st Avenue North and Ocean Blvd.
