LS3P’s Spectator Hotel tops Travel + Leisure’s “Best Hotels” lists

July 6, 2016

The Spectator Hotel, a new boutique hotel designed by LS3P’s Stephen Ramos, was named #1 Best City Hotel in the Continental US by Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards survey. The 41 room hotel, which opened in 2015, is located in Charleston’s French Quarter and features a classic 1920’s aesthetic. The Spectator also earned the #2 spot on the “Best Hotels in the World” list. Charleston was named the best city to visit in the world.

The Spectator’s owners, Jay Keenan and Batson Hewitt, began the project with the goal of creating the best hotel in Charleston. The team exceeded all expectations. “Although I was a bit intimidated by the high bar that Jay and Batson set, I felt very fortunate to be part of such a great project,” Ramos remembers. “On behalf of LS3P, we would like to congratulate the owners and staff of the Spectator, and to thank them for allowing us to be part of such an amazing project. It’s been exciting to see the success, and this recognition is the icing on the cake.”

Marc Marchant, Principal and Office Leader for LS3P’s Charleston office, is thrilled with the design and its impact on Charleston’s thriving tourist industry. “We are lucky to live, work, and design in a city that continues to attract people from around the world,” he explains. “More importantly, we are truly honored to work with creative clients like Jay Keenan and Batson Hewitt, whose original vision led to an award-winning project.”

About The Spectator Hotel: Located a block from Charleston’s popular City Market, the Spectator offers luxury amenities in a world-class setting. The hotel features deluxe suites, a personal butler service, event space, and a destination cocktail bar in the heart of Charleston’s historic district.
