LushAcres 2nd Annual Spring Festival and LC Buzz Discount Available

Much has changed at LushAcres Farm and Market since they opened just a few years ago.

While work has been done on the farm, plans have also been in the works for what will be a big, no very big Spring festival on Saturday, April 15. The festival is a family friendly event, and a special discount has been provided for Buzz readers. Use the code “BUZZ20” when purchasing tickets online and receive a 20% discount. Setup for the spring festival will begin at 9:00am.  A team of dedicated volunteers from throughout the Upstate, farm staff, and Thornwell employees will help in this process. This year’s spring festival is made possible in part by the generosity of Homes Ever After.

Gates open at 10:00 am and the festival will run till 5:00 pm

  • FREE – Parking
  • FREE – Gate Fee 2 years old and younger.
  • $10 – Gate Fee 3 years old and older.
  • $35 – Family Pass: Includes 4 people; up to 2 adults, and up to 3 kids under 17) can add additional children $5ea.

Activities:

  • $1 – Animal Feeding
  • $5 – Bucket of Corn for Corn Cannons
  • $10 – Strawberry Pie Eating Contest
  • $14 – U-pick Strawberries

Here’s the lineup:

Alpaca shearing demonstration – Three of LushAcres Farm Alpaca’s who are part of the farm animal experience will be groomed.  In the morning we will be having our alpaca sheared. From 10:00 am to noon, visitors will be able to observe the shearing process and other annual care needed for alpaca.

There will also be additional educational demos and displays from Clemson. These are fun interactive demos for all ages.

Entertainment – Rachel Messer, a Season 15 The Voice contestant, will be performing at the festival. A singer-songwriter raised up a little holler in Fort Gay, WV, Rachel draws her inspiration from the classic country (and even bluegrass) greats who paved the way before her.  She will have three different sets.

  • 10:30am-11:00am
  • 12:30pm-1pm
  • 3:30pm-4:00pm

HIS Radio’s Fun Patrol will also be in attendance.

Strawberry Pie Eating Contest (2:00 pm)– calling all pie lovers! Contestants for this event can sign up at LushAcresFarm.com/spring-festival.

Educational Presentation (2:30 pm) – April is Child Abuse Prevention month. At 2:30pm there will be a 30-minute presentation to bring awareness.  Several Laurens County and City of Clinton officials will be will participate in the program to help bring attention to child abuse prevention.

Food – Five different food trucks will provide a wide range of options and delicious donuts from LushAcres Farm Snack Shack will also be available.

  • Larrio’s Doggie Wagon-Gourmet hot dog and brats
  • That Won Truck-Asian wontons, chicken fried rice, bang bang shrimp.
  • Madwig Concessions-Cotton Candy, shaved ice, candy apples.
  • Ken’s Famous Italian Ice-Italian Ice

Activities for the kids (and the kid in you) include:

There will also be a Craft Show.
