LushAcres Participating in Food Collection for Gleaning Day

June 14, 2023

LushAcres Farm has partnered with Presbyterian College, the City of Clinton, and Clinton Canopy, to collect canned goods from June 1st through 21st.

They are asking the community to join the effort by dropping off non-perishable food items at the farm market (1875 W. Maple St Ext. in Clinton) between now and June 21st. All donations will be boxed, along with fresh LushAcres Farm produce, and distributed on Gleaning Day, June 27th.

“With the current circumstances, there are many families suffering from food insecurity throughout Laurens County.  We all have the power to make a difference, even if we can only give a little,” said Jacob Koch-Director of LushAcres Farm. “If you don’t have the time or resources to donate directly, you can easily give through the links below.  We invite you to join us in this fight against hunger and help us to make a difference in our community.”

Just what is gleaning?

Gleaning is the act of collecting excess fresh foods from farms, gardens, farmers markets, grocers, restaurants, state/county fairs, or any other sources in order to provide it to those in need.
