Mac Carpenter Selected as President of KBR Building Group

October 22, 2014

GREENVILLE, SC – KBR Inc. (NYSE: KBR) announced that Mac Carpenter, based in Greenville, has been named President of KBR Building Group, one of the Southeast’s top construction companies. With a rich history in the Carolinas dating back more than a century, KBR Building Group operates on a national basis offering a variety of construction services and project delivery methods to clients in the advanced manufacturing, commercial/mixed-use, healthcare and institutional sectors.

During his 25 years with the company, Carpenter has held increasingly responsible positions in the areas of project management, regional operations and executive leadership. For the past 10 years, Carpenter served as Executive Vice President – during a decade when KBR Building Group executed an impressive list of building programs for well-known companies like American Honda Motor Company, Boeing, Duke Medicine, DuPont, Ferguson Enterprises, Gulfstream Aerospace, Sysco Foods and Triumph Group. A major milestone in Carpenter’s career was heading up the design-build team that managed South Carolina’s largest construction project in history – Boeing’s 787 South Carolina Expansion in North Charleston. Three years after delivering this nationally recognized expansion project, KBR Building Group continues to work on the Boeing South Carolina campus today. Carpenter is a graduate of Appalachian State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design.
