MACK Home celebrates women near and far

COLUMBIA, SC – MACK Home, a retail home décor boutique and design firm offering furniture, lighting, tabletop accessories, art, jewelry and clothing, and owners and interior designers Marnie Clayton and Anna Kemper, will host an event to celebrate and support women near and far. The event, which is free and open to the public, takes place Thursday, Nov. 5, 6-9 p.m., at MACK Home at Trenholm Plaza (4840 Forest Dr.), Suite 12. MACK Home will also offer all retail at a 10 percent discount during the event.
A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit local charity Sistercare, a women’s shelter, and its efforts to raise funds for a new roof after recent flooding in the Midlands. The event will also highlight GlobalBike, a not-for-profit organization that provides women in rural Tanzania with bicycles to connect them with resources necessary to prosper.
“As women, we’ve been so inspired by GlobalBike and what one bicycle can do for women in Tanzania, even providing them with enough income to educate their children, said Clayton. “We’ve also been so moved by the recent flooding here at home, and hope to raise funds for Sistercare and the new roof they need urgently after the flood.”
In addition to offering beer, wine and bites at the party, MACK also plans to feature their designers and vendors that are owned by women throughout the store during the event, including ZAGS, a new line of wraps and scarves with UPF 30 designed by Jennifer Horton of Charleston. ZAGS will also have a trunk show from 1 – 5 p.m. on Nov. 5 at MACK Home. Attendees can purchase $5 raffle tickets (get five tickets for $20) for the chance to win gift certificates, jewelry and home décor at the party. All proceeds from the raffle will directly benefit GlobalBike.
“Women in the design industry, whether its furniture, jewelry or clothing design are a powerful force,” said Kemper. “We’re excited to feature many of these designers every day at the shop and during this event.”
