Madden to Lead Nelson Mullins’ Greenville Office

January 5, 2011

GREENVILLE, SC – January 5, 2011 – Tim Madden, a Laurens native and longtime Upstate attorney, has been named managing partner of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Greenville office. He will oversee an office of 37 attorneys and 33 support staff.

“The Upstate is the epicenter for business and industry in South Carolina, and Nelson Mullins looks forward to our 24th year of continued growth and expansion of service to clients in this market,” Mr. Madden said. He succeeds Marvin Quattlebaum, who will be elected President of the South Carolina Bar in 2011.

Mr. Madden joined Nelson Mullins in 2006.  He previously served as a managing partner of Wilkins & Madden, a Greenville firm where he worked with former Ambassador to Canada and Nelson Mullins’ partner David Wilkins.

Established in 1897, Nelson Mullins has more than 400 attorneys and government relations professionals practicing from 12 office locations in the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia.  The Greenville office was the second expansion office, and started when former South Carolina Governor and U.S. Secretary of Education Richard W. Riley joined the firm in 1987.

“Tim is a proven leader and will be a great asset as managing partner of the Greenville office,” Riley said. “Marvin successfully led the office through ten years of growth, and Tim will continue to build on that strong foundation in the future.”
