Main and Stone live/work community announces three commercial tenants

April 4, 2016

GREENVILLE, SC – Main and Stone LLC, an affiliate of Charleston-based developer The Beach Company, announced that it will welcome three new commercial tenants to its mixed-use community. Connecting three historic Greenville, S.C., neighborhoods in the heart of the eclectic North Main area, Main and Stone features 20,900 square feet of retail and commercial space to create an urban epicenter for residents seeking city life with a neighborhood feel.

“As we welcome residents to Main and Stone, these commercial tenants will create a truly vibrant mixed-use community,” said Alan McMahon, the project’s development manager. “We’re excited for our future residents and tenants, as well as the surrounding neighborhoods to be able to simply walk downstairs or across the street to grab a bite to eat, visit the salon or do some light grocery shopping.”

Two Chefs Café & Market

Veteran Greenville restaurant Two Chefs will serve as Main and Stone’s anchor tenant. Updating its name to Two Chefs Café & Market, the restaurant will expand its scope to offer grab-and-go prepared food options as well as local and regional market items such as seasonal produce and farm fresh eggs and milk. A Greenville establishment for more than 18 years, Two Chefs will leave its current location in the Poinsett building to occupy the 5,000 square-foot space located beneath nearly 300 apartments, which is scheduled to be finalized May 2016.

“We’ve had lots of opportunities to go in different spaces, but we sat tight and waited for the right thing to come along,” said Two Chefs owner Judy Balsizer. “From the landscaping to the streetscaping to the location and neighborhood demographic, the Main and Stone project is just done really well.”

Megan Diez Salon

A local Greenville favorite since 2013, Megan Diez Salon will expand its current River Street location to a 1,854 square-foot space at Main and Stone late summer 2016. Catering to both men and women, Megan Diez’s stylists are known for tailoring each service to a client’s individual needs. The salon carries exclusively vegan products that are both paraben– and sulphate-free. From busy lunchtime professionals seeking high-quality salon services to clients looking to be pampered for hours, one of the salon’s distinguishing features is its flexible scheduling. New services include a luxury brow bar and a makeup and nail station to accommodate clients seeking a one-stop-shop for salon services. Salon owner Megan Diez chose Main and Stone for its downtown convenience and easy access to parking.

“We already feel like we’re part of the growing Main and Stone community,” said Diez. “Our salon welcomes Greenville’s international and growing community, and it will now serve as an onsite luxury amenity for residents.”

Ji-Roz

Seasoned restaurant owner and lifelong Greenville resident John Makkas will open Ji-Roz, an authentic Greek restaurant serving lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch late this summer. Equipped with a full bar and an impressive outdoor seating area, Ji-Roz will feature an open kitchen concept with rotisserie meats, traditional Greek sides and pastries, vegetarian options and exclusively Greek wine. From gluten-free pitas to USB plug-ins, the 2,500 square-foot restaurant will cater to Main and Stone’s live/work community seeking a vibrant happy hour, a quick bite to eat or a leisure Sunday brunch. A Le Cordon Bleu graduate, Makkas is passionate about food and people, which contributed to his decision to open Ji-Roz at Main and Stone.

“I love the fact that the members of this community support each other,” said Makkas. “Ji-Roz will be another amenity for residents, families and nearby professionals to enjoy authentic Greek food while promoting a sense of community.”
