Main Street road work begins Sept. 14 in Fountain Inn

Motorists traveling through downtown Fountain Inn should prepare for lane closures and delays next week as infrastructure crews move into the central corridor.

Beginning Monday, September 14, crews will start milling and resurfacing Main Street between Fairview Street and Jones Street as part of the city’s ongoing Sewer Rehabilitation Project. The work is scheduled to take approximately five business days, running through Friday, September 18.

City officials announced that one lane of traffic will remain open throughout the construction, but drivers should anticipate slower travel times and congestion when passing through this stretch of downtown. Motorists are urged to use extra caution around road crews and allow additional travel time for their commutes.

Downtown shops and restaurants will remain fully accessible throughout the project, and city leaders encourage residents to continue shopping and dining locally during the construction window.
