Major sponsor Stella Artois to present The Carolina Cup

February 25, 2016

Attention Camden Steeplechase fans. The Carolina Cup Racing Association announced a partnership with Stella Artois and Brown-Forman Corporation, makers of Woodford Reserve Bourbon (WRB), to provide the official race beverages. Stella Artois will serve as the Official Beer of The Carolina Cup, and will present the trophy.

In addition to serving Belgium’s #1 beer, The Carolina Cup is excited to introduce The Carolina Julip, as the new official race drink. The Carolina Julip will be made with Woodford Reserve Bourbon (WRB), the official bourbon of The Kentucky Derby and The Belmont Stakes.

“We are thrilled to offer jump racing fans these wonderful new drink options,” said Nick Ellis, Chief Executive Officer of the Carolina Cup Racing Association. “Stella Artois is one of the finest pilsners in the world. And, to have an official cocktail named for the race in the same manner as two legs of The Triple Crown is quite an honor.”

Stella Artois is also sponsoring the Post & Paddock, where the brewing company will serve its renowned products to venue guests. Infield race fans will be able to purchase Stella Artois products from the company’s Airstream, which will be located in the infield.

The Carolina Julip will be served exclusively in a special commemorative silver mug that fans can take home. A portion of The Carolina Julip proceeds will be donated in support of Camden’s National Steeplechase Museum.

The 81st running of The Carolina Cup will be held on Saturday, April 2 at the Springdale Race Course in Camden SC. Tickets and space for the tailgating, grandstand, general admission, Springdale Turf Club and Post & Paddock are now on sale.
