Make-A-Wish to Reveal Wish LIVE at The Wish Ball

February 22, 2017

Make-A-Wish® South Carolina will host its 4th Annual Wish Ball on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the University of South Carolina Alumni Center. The gala celebrates the Make-A-Wish mission by raising funds to grant the wishes of South Carolina children with life-threatening medical conditions.

This year, Make-A-Wish is excited to take attendees on an incredible journey through the transformative experience a wish provides to all involved- donors, volunteers and wish families. Throughout the program, guests will discover the deeply moving and impactful way lives are powerfully altered by following the wish experience of Wish Kid, Rob, through virtual and live presentations. Rob himself will be a guest speaker along with his parents and wish kid, Amaya, as she shares her transition from wish kid to donor and advocate for Make-A-Wish.

Make-A-Wish is delighted to announce there will be, in a truly magical moment, a LIVE REVEAL of a wish at the gala. Grayson is a happy three-year-old who loves to play and watch cartoons. However, a heart defect caused Grayson to undergo a heart transplant. His surgeries and condition have taken precious time away from his childhood, but Grayson has remained joyful.

At the ball, Make-A-Wish will reveal to Grayson, live on-stage, that his wish is coming true! Grayson will spend the evening in Columbia and on Sunday morning will be whisked away by limousine to head to Walt Disney World® Resort. Make-A-Wish looks forward to granting his wish together with our supporters so that Grayson can feel uplifted and able to see where his favorite cartoon mouse lives.

In addition, The Wish Ball will feature our inaugural presentation of the Beth B. Taylor Volunteer of the Year Award. Beth Taylor will share her passion for volunteering with the organization with guests before awarding a Columbia resident with the inaugural award.
