Making Mondays brighter: The Rusty Rudder Mt. Pleasant donates more than $7,000 to local charities with Miracle Monday Campaign

As we approach the new year, December comes with a time for reflection of the past. Thankfully, miracles are being made every Monday at The Rusty Rudder Mt. Pleasant located at 3563 N. Hwy 17. Since January 2016, The Rusty Rudder has raised more than $7,000 for a variety of charities within the greater Charleston area from the Miracle Monday program that donates 10% of all sales each Monday to a designated beneficiary. Past Rusty Rudder Miracle Monday recipients include Lowcountry Lab Rescue, One 80 Place, Friends of Coastal South Carolina, Coastal Lacrosse, Windwood Family Services, Veterans On Deck, Katie’s Krops, The Sertoma Football Classic, Toys for Tots, Wando High School Band and The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of South Carolina. The December Miracle Monday beneficiary is Toys for Tots and the Rudder is a drop-off location for Toys for Tots, where the public can donate new, unwrapped toys for those in need.
Since opening in July 2014, The Rusty Rudder Mt. Pleasant has become an asset to Lowcountry charities by establishing their Miracle Monday program – an opportunity where the public can enjoy a meal and help those around them at the same time. They also are frequent participants in fundraisers such as Denny Hamlin’s Pro AM Jam and golf tournament, Susan G. Komen Rockers for Knockers, Lowcountry Wingapalooza and more.
“Community involvement and charitable support is in large part what the Rudder was built on. When we opened in Mount Pleasant, we knew we wanted to create a Rudder family within the area, not just a business,” said Brian Johnston, co-owner of The Rusty Rudder Mt. Pleasant.
The Rusty Rudder also offers unique indoor and outdoor space, including a pet friendly patio, indoor and outdoor TVs, space heaters and fans, for local fundraising events, auctions and more.
