Marchant Real Estate taps Celeste Purdie to serve as the company’s Coordinator of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Marchant Real Estate Agent Celeste Purdie is stepping into a new role within the company as the newly minted Coordinator of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Seabrook Marchant, Owner and President of Marchant Real Estate hand picked Celeste for this role. As an invaluable asset to the company with 25 years in the human resources field, in addition to being an honored and esteemed veteran, Purdie will work to guide the company’s insight and understanding surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion.
Purdie has amassed years of professional experience in both local and international realms. She has been actively involved in human resource leadership for twenty five years. She also served as a member of the United States Air Force.
Seabrook Marchant, President and Broker-In-Charge of the company, feels the addition of this new role and Purdie’s appointment to serve in that capacity is necessary for the company to move forward as a leader in the Upstate community. “Like so many people and companies, we at Marchant Real Estate have been troubled by the events unfolding in our country recently. The death of George Floyd at the hands of those sworn to protect and serve was both sickening and inexcusable. As a company and as individuals, we have been listening with intentionality. We see the pain of those affected not only by what has happened recently, but also by what exists systemically within our society,” he says.

Therefore, I could not be more pleased to announce that we have asked one of our agents, Celeste Purdie, to become our Coordinator of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. With an extensive and varied background in Human Resources, Celeste is uniquely qualified to spearhead our efforts moving forward to insure we are listening deliberatively, with a focus on actionable change for the betterment of those who feel disenfranchised.
