Mariel Norton named Special Counsel at Baker, Ravenel & Bender

Mariel D. Norton, formerly an associate at Baker Ravenel & Bender, has been named Special Counsel for the firm.

“This acknowledgement of Mariel’s experience and talent reflects the contributions she has made to the firm during the eight years she has been part of our practice,” said Managing Partner Catharine Garbee Griffin. “Through her dedicated service to our clients, she has unquestionably earned this recognition.”

Mariel practices in the areas of insurance coverage, bad faith litigation and appellate advocacy at the firm.

Being from a military family, she lived in several states before choosing to attend Wofford College, where she earned a summa cum laude in history in 2008. Since then, she has made South Carolina her home. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2011.
