Mark Bakker & Sarah Sloan Batson join Nexsen Pruet in Greenville

New hires expand top-ranked labor & employment team
Attorneys Mark Bakker and Sarah Sloan Batson have joined Nexsen Pruet’s Greenville office as members (partners). Both are litigators who represent businesses and professionals on employment and labor law issues. Mark and Sarah are the latest addition to the firm’s highly ranked employment and labor law team.

Bakker earned his undergraduate degree from Furman University and law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law. He clerked for the Honorable Eugene E. Siler, Jr. on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit Court and the Honorable William B. Traxler, Jr. for the U.S. District Court of South Carolina, and started his practice of law in Greenville in 1996. Bakker is also a certified mediator in South Carolina federal and state courts.
Batson is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business and the University of South Carolina School of Law, valedictorian in both undergraduate and law school. She clerked for the Honorable Dennis W. Shedd of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit before she began her practice. In addition to her employment practice, Batson also handles other complex commercial disputes.
