Mark Ratchford represents Rockoon Climbing Community in 25,000-SF lease at Judson Mill

Mark Ratchford, MAI, of KDS Commercial Properties, represented Rockoon Climbing Community in the lease of 25,000-SF space in Judson Mill, located at 701 Easley Bridge Road near downtown Greenville. Rockoon Climbing Community will be one of the first tenants in Judson Mill, one of the largest textile mills in Greenville County that closed in 2015 and is being redeveloped as a mixed-use property.
Ratchford worked closely with Rockoon Climbing Community founder and owner, Doug Johnson, to identify an ideal location for a new state-of-the-art indoor rock climbing and bouldering gym, that will also include space for a yoga studio, café, training areas and climbing retail shop.

Doug and Teri Johnson relocated from Marietta, Ga. with their seven children, two which are top ranked rock climbers, to start a business around their family’s interest and passion around the sport of rock climbing. Vertical Solutions, of Salt Lake City, Utah, will design Rockoon’s Climbing Community bouldering and route climbing floor, and the Johnsons have plans to host USA Climbing (USAC) competitions in the future, which will draw many competitive climbers to the Upstate.
