Architecture, interiors, and planning firm LS3P announced Columbia Office Leader, Mary Beth Sims Branham, AIA, has been elected to the LS3P Board of Directors. A Columbia native, Branham opened the Columbia office in May 2004, the firm’s first female start-up office. With more than 40 years of experience, she has led the design team on notable projects in Columbia, including the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division’s Forensics Lab, the University of South Carolina Pastides Alumni Center, and the Fireflies/Segra Stadium in the Bull Street Development (in association with Populous).

“Mary Beth has been instrumental in driving the expansion of the firm into the state,” says LS3P’s Chief Practice Officer and Board Chair, Katherine Peele, FAIA, LEED AP. “The Board looks forward to benefiting from Mary Beth’s perspective, experience, and enthusiasm.”

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the LS3P Columbia office is the second-largest architecture firm in the Midlands and has become one of the premier architecture and interior design firms in the Midlands. Branham shares “this recognition is truly an honor and I am excited to serve in this role as the firm continues to grow and serve our communities across the Southeast.”

Recent projects that are making an impact on our community, include multiple Lexington Medical Center facilities, including the new Graduate Medical Education Building I, GME II – USC’s College of Nursing, the Richland County Public Safety Complex, Forest Lake Elementary School in Richland School District Two and the revitalization of Finlay Park, expected to be completed in late 2025 (in association with Stantec).
