Mary Nell Anthony selected as GTCHS Principal

Dr. Robert Nash, Chairman of the Board Of Directors of Greenville Tech Charter High School, announced the selection of Mary Nell Anthony to fill the position of school Principal beginning July 1, 2016.

Mrs. Anthony is currently director of the T.L. Hanna High School Ninth Grade Academy in Anderson School District Five. The Academy has over 520 students and over 20 faculty members. Mrs. Anthony is a Cum Laude graduate of Anderson College receiving a BA degree in English. She earned her MA from Furman University graduating with a 4.0 GPA. In addition to numerous awards and honors, Mrs. Anthony is a recipient of the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award.

Board Of Directors Chairman, Dr. Nash stated, “The GTCHS Board of Directors worked many hours to recruit a Principal who will be an excellent fit for GTCHS, who loves all students, who is supportive of their staff members, and who is a great communicator with parents and community leaders. We are confident that she will provide the leadership to move GTCHS to the next level for creating an excellent academic program and model high school for the community.”

Interim principal Dr. Brodie Bricker said of Mrs. Anthony, “I had the opportunity to work with Mrs. Anthony when she was a graduate student in my school leadership class at Furman University. Her ability to solve educational problems, work and lead other team members to create a vision for the future, made her a promising young leader. Her philosophy of education and her passion for student learning to insure that students strive to reach their potential is evident in the leadership she has provided as a teacher, a Dean and a Director. She has a talent to see in others what they cannot see in themselves. Mrs. Anthony has the skills and passion to take GTCHS to the next level.”
