COLUMBIA, SC – The Agape Main Street Complex was honored with an award for Adaptive Use by the Preservation Awards Committee of the Historic Columbia Foundation. Mashburn worked with Lambert Architecture + Construction Services, together they completed the Complex for Agape Senior Care consisting of 1614, 1620, and 1626 Main Street. The project consisted of a 43,000 square foot historic renovation of three dilapidated buildings. Included in the complex is Agape Pharmacy; physician’s offices and a medical practice area; 24/7 Health & Fitness Center; a conference center; Good Life Café; and Michael’s Café and Catering.

Numerous historic features were preserved, restored, and/or reused. This included the full terra cotta façade, original steel windows, hardwood floors, tin ceilings and cornice, as well as plaster finishes. In addition, windows that were once completely blocked-in were uncovered and restored. The mixed-use development now provides premium office, retail, and healthcare space in the heart of downtown Columbia.
