Mast General Store hosts a RoundUp to support the Arts on January 24-26
January 22, 2025Dolly Parton’s birthday is January 19, and she is 79 years young! Mast General Store is celebrating Dolly’s birthday and her legacy of support for many different causes with a weekend to RoundUp for the Arts at the Mast Store in Columbia on January 24-26. Donations will support the Nickelodeon Theatre.
The arts are a big part of every community and have super powers to bring people together to heal and for discussions that lead to forward movement. Mast Store co-founder and secretary/treasurer emerita Faye Cooper has often said, “Vibrant communities have vibrant people. Vibrant people are found in the arts.”
Part of Mast Store’s community support is directed toward the arts in addition to contributing to organizations that provide for basic human needs, conservation and preservation, and other community forward undertakings. The Mast Store believes the arts contribute to its home communities in many ways, including growing the economy, improving quality of life, and providing a sense of place.
Dolly has said that her dream is to make as many people happy as she can. With a personality that fills every stage where she performs to a heart as big as the Smoky Mountains, she is known the world over for her rags-to-rhinestones story. Over January 24-26, Mast Store salutes Dolly, her talent, and her generosity by asking its guests to RoundUp their purchases to the next dollar to support giving a stage to talent waiting to be discovered through the arts in our local community.
We all need art, and the Nickelodeon Theatre is working to make it more accessible to everyone in and around Columbia.
