Math Professor, Dr. Griggs, Named a Fellow in Prestigious Society

COLUMBIA, SC – May 5, 2009 – Dr. Jerrold Griggs, Carolina Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at the University of South Carolina, has been named a 2009 fellow by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). Selection is limited to distinguished individuals who have made outstanding contributions to applied mathematics and computational science. Fellows for the inaugural class were chosen from five continents and work in academia, industry and government laboratories.
