Matthew Malloy to Chair 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC – Matthew Malloy has joined the Alzheimer’s Association as Event Chair for the 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Greenville. Malloy, who serves as district manager of pharmacy and retail operations for Walgreens, will lead a volunteer planning committee, comprised of the following members:

Logistics Chair – Amber Morse, Marketing and Recruiting, Assisting Angels Homecare

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Greenville will take place on Saturday, October 7 at Fluor Field. At the event, walk participants will complete a two-mile walk and learn about Alzheimer’s disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical studies enrollment and support programs and services from the Alzheimer’s Association. Participants will also join in a meaningful tribute ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

“We are so fortunate to have devoted volunteers like Matt who give their time, energy and expertise to help us increase Alzheimer’s awareness and raise the funds we need to provide care and support for those affected, advocate for the needs and rights of people facing Alzheimer’s and accelerate research across the globe,” said Kimberly Best, senior director of development for the Alzheimer’s Association SC Chapter.

In the United States, more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, the sixth-leading cause of death and the only disease among the top 10 causes that cannot be cured, prevented or even slowed. Additionally, more than 15 million family and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Registration for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Greenville is open, and supporters can begin raising funds and awareness now.
