Mauldin Chamber Celebrates Double Milestone: Statewide Honors and Global Ambitions
April 27, 2026It has been a banner week for the Greater Mauldin Chamber of Commerce, as the organization celebrates a major individual achievement for its leadership and the expansion of its international community travel program.
From local accolades to a “tapestry of history” waiting across the Atlantic, the Chamber is positioning Mauldin at the center of both business excellence and global connection.
Sonia McAbee Named One of SC’s Top 100 Women
The Chamber is proudly celebrating Board Secretary Sonia McAbee, who was recently named to the prestigious SCBIZ 2026 Top 100 Women in South Carolina.
McAbee, a leader with MTC Federal Credit Union, is being recognized for her extensive contributions to the business community and her generous commitment of time and talent to the Chamber’s mission. The Greater Mauldin Chamber described her as a “valued leader” whose statewide recognition reflects the high caliber of professionals driving growth in the Golden Strip.
From the Golden Strip to the Greek Isles
While celebrating local success, the Chamber is also looking toward the horizon with its upcoming Discover Greece journey, scheduled for September 18–27, 2026.
The trip has already gained significant momentum, with a group of 22 travelers already registered to explore Athens and the Greek Isles. Designed with the theme “Travel with Purpose,” the itinerary includes:
-
Historical Exploration: Guided tours of the Acropolis and Ancient Agora in Athens.
-
Island Hopping: Fast-ferry transfers to the iconic landscapes of Santorini and Mykonos.
-
Community Impact: A portion of the trip’s proceeds is earmarked to fund the Chamber’s 2026-2027 Small Business initiatives, meaning local travelers are investing in Mauldin’s growth while exploring the cradle of Western civilization.
Deadlines Approaching
For those looking to join the growing group of travelers, the Chamber has issued a reminder regarding upcoming administrative milestones. A second deposit of $2,000 per person is due by April 30, 2026, to secure limited group space, with final balances due in early June.
