Mauldin Herd Shows Up in Spots for Annual Cow Appreciation Day
July 15, 2026Local residents swapped their everyday wear for spots, horns, and cowbells yesterday as the Chick-for-A in Mauldin celebrated the highly anticipated return of Cow Appreciation Day.
The restaurant was flooded with patrons of all ages eager to show off their creativity in exchange for some of the brand’s signature chicken. From toddlers in full-body cow print jumpsuits to teenagers sporting hand-drawn “Cow Preesh” t-shirts, the community turned the fast-food location into a sea of black and white.
A Creative Showing from the Community
The event, which has long been a favorite tradition for Chick-fil-A fans, saw an outpouring of handmade designs. Many families and groups of friends chose to craft their own costumes:
-
DIY Spotting: Several groups arrived in matching white t-shirts covered in black felt spots, complete with construction-paper cow masks.
-
Handmade Signs: Signs reading the famous mascot catchphrase, “EAT MOR CHIKIN,” were proudly held high by young participants waiting in line.
-
The “Cow Preesh” Crew: Groups of teens took a minimalist approach, custom-decorating white shirts with fabric markers to read “Cow Preesh.”
“Today was one for the herd!” Chick-fil-A Mauldin shared on social media, expressing gratitude for the community’s enthusiastic turnout. “From handmade cow shirts to full-on cow costumes, our guests absolutely showed up and made today unforgettable.”
Reward for the Effort
For those brave enough to dress up, the reward was sweet—and savory. Customers who showed up dressed like a cow were treated to free entrees, drawing massive crowds that packed both the dining room and the drive-thru lines throughout the day.
For local families, the event has become about more than just free food; it is an annual summer tradition. “Did we dress up as cows and get free Chick-fil-A? Yes, and it was delicious!” said one local parent, sharing a photo of her four children fully decked out in cow gear.
With another successful Cow Appreciation Day in the books, the Mauldin herd has once again proven that they are always ready to dress the part.
