Mauldin Police K-9 Team Visits Green Charter School Simpsonville

April 6, 2026

Students at Green Charter School Simpsonville recently had a hands-on opportunity to learn about law enforcement, thanks to a visit from the Mauldin Police Department K-9 team.

Over the course of two weeks, officers and their K-9 partners conducted live demonstrations for students, showcasing the training, discipline, and specialized skills these dogs bring to public safety efforts. The demonstrations offered an up-close look at how K-9 units assist officers in the field, from tracking to detection work.

The visit also included a lighter—and likely favorite—moment for many students: spending time with K-9 Margo. After the demonstrations, students had the chance to interact with Margo, learning more about the role of police dogs while enjoying some well-earned petting time.

Events like these help build positive connections between law enforcement and the community, especially with younger residents. By engaging students in an educational and interactive setting, the Mauldin Police Department continues to foster trust and provide insight into the important work their officers and K-9 partners perform every day.
