Mauldin Rotary honors three with Service Above Self Award

February 11, 2015

MAULDIN, SC – The Rotary Club of Mauldin celebrated 35 years of service by honoring three community leaders who embody the organization’s purpose of service above self.

The honorees include William Brad Barker, a 16-year veteran of fire department service who has served nine years with the Mauldin Fire Department; Major David Jones, a Rotary member who has spent his career working in various capacities with the Salvation Army; and Patrol Officer Shaun Garrison Shields, a Class 3 Law Enforcement Officer with the Mauldin Police Department and the 2014 Mauldin Police Department Employee of the Year.
Honorees were chosen based on their commitment to serving the Mauldin community both in their careers and their personal lives.

The Service Above Self awards are given at the Rotary Club of Mauldin’s Charter Night celebration, held annually to commemorate the organization’s founding and celebrate accomplishments from the past year.
