Mauldin Theatre Company brings American classic ‘Our Town’ to the stage this September

Tickets are officially on sale as the Mauldin Theatre Company prepares to open its milestone 10th season with a production of Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece, Our Town.
The limited engagement will run from September 25 through September 27, 2026, at the Mauldin Cultural Center auditorium, inviting Upstate theatergoers to experience one of the most celebrated and poignant works in the American theatrical canon.
A celebration of ordinary beauty
Widely considered a monumental achievement in modern drama—famously described by playwright Edward Albee as “the greatest American play ever written”—Our Town transports audiences to the fictional early-20th-century community of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire.
Told across three distinct acts titled “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage,” and “Death and Eternity,” the play utilizes a metatheatrical narrator, the Stage Manager, alongside minimal props and sets. Through this stripped-down staging, Wilder directs all focus onto the universal rhythms of the human experience, tracking the everyday lives, budding romance, and eventual losses within the neighboring Webb and Gibbs households.
The production serves as the centerpiece for the launch of Mauldin Theatre Company’s tenth anniversary season, continuing the cultural center’s mission to bring accessible, professional-caliber performing arts to the Golden Strip.

Performances will take place across the final weekend of September at the Mauldin Cultural Center, located at 101 E. Butler Road.
General admission tickets are priced at $25, with discounted $20 admission available for students, seniors, and military personnel. Seats can be reserved in advance through the cultural center’s online box office portal via Ludus.
