Mauldin’s MavBand Announces Spring Car Wash to Fund Historic Grand Nationals Run
May 6, 2026Mauldin High School’s marching band, widely known as the MavBand, is calling on the local community to help them make history.
On Saturday, May 9, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the MavBand will host its Spring Car Wash in the Mauldin High School parking lot. The fundraiser aims to help the ensemble secure the necessary funds to travel to the prestigious Grand National Championships—a milestone achievement that would make them the first marching band from Greenville County to ever attend the event.
Supporters can drive through the high school parking lot to have their vehicles washed by band members and volunteers. Pricing for the fundraiser is structured as follows:
-
Cars and Small SUVs: $5 (or one pre-purchased ticket)
-
Trucks, Vans, and Large SUVs: $10 (or two pre-purchased tickets)
Both cash and pre-purchased tickets will be accepted at the event.
The Grand National Championships, held annually at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, represents the pinnacle of high school marching band competitions in the United States. Participating in the event is a massive honor, but it comes with significant travel, lodging, and logistical expenses for the large student ensemble.
With every car washed directly supporting the historic trip, organizers hope to see a strong turnout from Mauldin residents, neighbors, and local music supporters to help send the MavBand to the national stage.
