Mayor John Tecklenburg, David Diana to announce 10th Annual Lowcountry Mental Health Conference

Please join Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg and Lowcountry Mental Health Conference Director David Diana for a press conference announcing the 10th Annual Lowcountry Mental Health Conference, at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022, at City Council Chamber in City Hall, located at 80 Broad Street. Other spokespersons will include Mental Health HEROES Board Member Mark Hood and Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Byron Benton.

The Lowcountry Mental Health Conference (LMHC) is considered South Carolina’s largest mental health conference. Set for July 27 to 29, 2022 at the Gaillard Center, the three-day event will feature 12 renowned mental health experts including: Dr. Gabor Mate, New York Times bestselling author and addiction and trauma expert; Dr. Anna Lembke, Professor of Psychiatry and Chief of Addiction Medicine at Stanford University; and the aforementioned Rev. Dr. Benton, who holds a master’s degree in Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Eastern University.

Additionally, the July mental health conference will include an Exhibit Hall of 90+ organizations displaying a wide range of mental health information and resources and conclude with a performance by acclaimed country and rock fusion band Wild Ponies.
