McFall’s named 2016 “Miner of the Year”

Joe McFalls was recently named 2016 Mining Association of South Carolina (MASC) “Miner of the Year”. He was born in Chattanooga, TN. McFalls graduated from The McCallie School in Chattanooga, TN and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in 1981. McFalls is currently Plant Manager for Holcim (US) Inc. in Holly Hill, SC, one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of cement and mineral components in the United States. McFalls came to Holly Hill, SC from Mobile, AL in 2008 where he also served as Plant Manager for Holcim (US) Inc. Prior to joining Holcim (US) Inc., McFalls was Plant Manager for Olin Corporation in McIntosh, AL.

In addition, McFalls has served as President of the Tri-County Regional Chamber of Commerce which includes Berkeley, Dorchester, and Orangeburg Counties. Joe and his wife Lara Beth have two children, Lucas and Kaycee.
