McMillan Pazdan Smith announces new leadership

McMillan Pazdan Smith named two new firm Principals: David Moore and Tom Hund. The firm has also announced six new Associate Principals.

“These individuals have demonstrated consistent leadership potential and a proven commitment to the firm, the firm’s clients, and their own professional growth, design and business expertise,” says Ron Smith, Managing Principal. “The impact and experience they’ve had positions them well to continue providing greater levels of leadership within the firm.”

“We believe that by investing in opportunities for individuals to succeed, we as a firm are succeeding,” says Chad Cousins, the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. “Our collective commitment remains to develop and support individual and team design, knowledge, and innovation capabilities, and to grow our potential through a spirit of collaboration and thoughtful design.”

David R. Moore, II, AIA, is the firm’s Higher Education Studio Director. He is a regular speaker and thought leader on issues related to library programming, design, construction and sustainability and has been a featured speaker at numerous regional and national conferences. His work has also been published in multiple national publications. He has also been a past President of the South Carolina chapter of the American Institute of Architects. David earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Clemson University, and is a current member of the Professional Advisory Board for the university’s School of Architecture.

Tom Hund, Charleston Office Director, has strong relationships serving both public and private sector clients throughout the Southeast in advanced planning strategies and urban design. He is actively involved in leadership roles with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the American Institute of Architects and is currently serving as the Founding Chair of the Rethinking Southern Cities regional council. Additionally, he serves the Charleston community and the industry through service on the Board of Governors for the Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, as a trustee for Clemson University’s Real Estate Program, and as a Member of the Tri-County Council of Government’s Regional Land Use Committee.

In addition to the two new Principals, McMillan Pazdan Smith has also appointed six new Associate Principals, the firm’s next generation of experts and leaders.  The new Associate Principals are:
