McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture Names Three Principals

GREENVILLE, SC – March 9, 2011 – McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture is pleased to announce that K.J. Jacobs, Karen Calhoun and Sally Sarratt have been named principals of the firm. 

With 17 years of architectural design experience, K.J. has held responsibility for some of the firm’s most significant projects including ones for Hubbell Lighting, Palmetto Bank, Spartanburg Day School, Nexsen Pruet and USC Upstate. He currently serves as Project Manager for RiverWalk at RiverPlace for Hughes Investments and the renovation of Pell and Dexter Residence Halls for Converse College.  He received a Master of Architecture from Clemson University and serves as Campus Studio Director for the firm.

Since 1999, Karen Calhoun has directed the business development and marketing initiatives for the firm.  She has been instrumental in increasing the visibility and geographic footprint of project opportunities in multiple locations and market sectors.  Karen has been an active participant in state and regional economic development organizations and is a graduate of both Leadership Spartanburg and Leadership South Carolina. A graduate of Clemson University, she currently serves on the advisory board for Wells Fargo, USC Upstate Foundation and the Upstate Executive committee of the Urban Land Institute.

Sally Sarratt serves as Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for human resources, general operations and processes, and administrative and strategic leadership to include visioning, forecasting and growth.  Formerly a Brand Manager with The Procter & Gamble Company in Cincinnati, OH, Sally earned a Master of Business Administration from The University of Virginia’s Darden School and currently serves as Board Chairman for Greenville Forward.
