July 6, 2011

SPARTANBURG, SC – July 6, 2011 – McMillan Pazdan Smith announces the completion of a $7.3 million renovation and addition project for the historic Jackson County Courthouse, now home of the Jackson County Library Headquarters in Sylva, NC.

The significant 1920s structure served as the center of community life for decades.  After a feasibility study completed in 2007, the firm was commissioned to plan and design a 20,000 SF two-story addition to the historic Courthouse to serve as a home for the Genealogical Society, Historical Society and Library. A glass entrance atrium, used for pre-function events, connects the library to 6,000 SF of renovated space in the Courthouse, now available for meetings and programs.
