May 1, 2017

Michael Weaver, a commercial bankruptcy and financial restructuring attorney at McNair Law Firm, has been honored by the United Way of the Midlands with the prestigious Alyce Kemp DeWitt Award. The award was created in 1994 to recognize a volunteer whose creativity, passion and long-time service have made a measurable impact on the organization and community.

“Since 2008, Michael has volunteered his time and services to the United Way and has helped to make a meaningful impact on the Midlands,” said David Tigges, the firm’s managing shareholder. “We are pleased that he has been recognized for his contributions to our community.”

Michael served on and chaired the United Way of the Midlands’ Financial Stability Council from 2008 until 2014. During Michael’s tenure, the Council expanded services and programs that reduce homelessness. Since 2014, Michael has served on the United Way’s Community Impact Committee, volunteered to support various task forces and initiatives and, since 2015, has chaired the Community Impact Partnership Committee which reviews and monitors partner agencies.
