McNair Law Firm Announces New Attorneys in Three of its South Carolina Offices and its North Carolina Office

COLUMBIA, SC – November 27, 2007 – McNair Law Firm, P.A., with eight South Carolina offices and one North Carolina office, announces new attorneys in three of its South Carolina offices and its North Carolina office and their areas of practice:

IN ITS CHARLESTON OFFICE:

TOYA HAMPTON GREEN
Commercial and Residential Real Estate

Ms. Green was graduated from the University of Washington, B.A., Communications and Public Relations, in 1995, and earned her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 2000.  Toya has joined McNair Law Firm, P.A. as Special Counsel and she primarily handles both commercial and residential real estate matters.  Before joining our Firm, Toya practiced with another Charleston law firm and had her own private practice for six years.

Active in the community, Toya has been elected as a Trustee to the Charleston County Consolidated School Board; a member of the Board of Directors of Atlantic Bank and Trust; a member of the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association; and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

 

IN ITS COLUMBIA OFFICE:

EVE ALEXANDRA ROSS
Municipal Finance

Ms. Ross was graduated from Brigham Young University, B.A., Linguistics, magna cum laude, in 1997, and earned her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2007 where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and Order of the Wig and Robe.  Prior to attending law school, Eve performed market research for a boutique investment bank in Paris, France and taught English in Novosibirsk, Russia, and Beijing, China.  She is fluent in French and Russian and has a basic conversational knowledge of Mandarin.

Eve is the author of A Venerable Profession Enters the Global Economy:  South Carolina Lawyers and the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS), 57 S.C. Law Review 969, (2006).  Eve’s practice area is municipal finance.

CHRISTOPHER S. McDONALD
Corporate and Commercial Real Estate

Mr. McDonald was graduated from the University of South Carolina, B.A., English, in 1992, and earned his M.A. in Journalism from that institution in 2004.  Chris earned his J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina, School of Law in 2007 and is a member of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court.  Prior to attending law school, Chris pursued a teaching career in secondary schools and later as Director of the Carolina Journalism Institute.  He is the author of several journal articles and a contributor to the book Advertising and Public Relations Law, 2nd Edition to be published by Lawrence Erlbaum (fall 2007).  Chris’ practice area is in corporate transactional matters and commercial real estate development.

Chris recently served on the Career and Technology Education Community Advisory Committee – Machine Tool Technology at Spring Valley High School; is the former Vice Chair of the South Carolina Scholastic Press Association; and also has served on the Executive Committee of the Southern Interscholastic Press Association.

 

IN ITS GREENVILLE OFFICE:

JONATHAN P. HAMMOND
Environmental Law

Mr. Hammond was graduated from Clemson University, B.S., Biosystems Engineering, magna cum laude, in 2004, and earned his J.D. degree from Duke University School of Law in 2007.  Jon’s early work experience was with the South Carolina Public Service Authority (Santee Cooper) and later as a Research Assistant for Professor Christopher Schroeder at Duke University School of Law.  Jon’s practice area is environmental law.

 

IN ITS CHARLOTTE OFFICE:

DENIS VOLKOV
Commercial Litigation

A native of Actan, U.S.S.R. Mr. Volkov was graduated from Guilford College, B.A., Political Science – With Honors, in 2003 where he was on the Dean’s List and received the Andrea Gerlak Senior Excellence Award in Political Science.  Denis earned his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota, School of Law in 2007 and was on the Dean’s List and participated in the National Moot Court.  While in law school, Denis was employed by Piper Jaffray Companies in the Office of General Counsel.  Previously he served in clerkships positions with law practices in Greensboro, North Carolina and a clerkship with the South-Western Court of Moscow for Federal Judge Kalinin V.S.  He is fluent in Russian, English and has conversational knowledge of French.  Denis’ practice area is commercial litigation.
