McNair Law Firm Opens new Kentucky office and Announces key Public Finance Hire

COLUMBIA, SC – July 9, 2012 – McNair Law Firm, P.A., one of SouthCarolinas’ largest full- service law firms, announced that it isexpanding its footprint by opening an office in Lexington, Kentucky. Ithas hired longtime, local public finance attorney, Gillard (Gil) B. Johnson,to open the office and help drive growth in the market. The Lexingtonlocation will be the firm’s 10th office, adding Kentucky to its currentlocations in South Carolina and North Carolina.

Gil has been practicing law in Kentucky for more than 40 years. Hebrings an extensive background in tax-exempt and industrial developmentbond financing, and experience in mergers, acquisitions, andcommercial/corporate litigation. Prior to joining McNair, Gil clerkedfor the U.S. Tax Court under the late Judge William Drennan and was atax attorney with Ashland Oil, Inc., in Ashland Kentucky.
Gil is a graduate of the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at theUniversity of Louisville, where he was a member of the Law Review andeditor of the Louisville Lawyer.
