Metamorphosis – Presbyterian College Wind Ensemble & Chamber Winds Concert

March 21, 2023

Metamorphosis indicates transformation or change.

Presbyterian College Wind Ensemble & Chamber Winds concert on April 4th will reflect on it in three manners.

First, a metamorphosis concerning the total transformation of our band program in the last two years, possible only due to the incredible talent and dedication of the musicians on stage.

Second, for concert goers familiar with their performances, the structure of this concert is undergoing a metamorphosis. The chamber music segment is not opening the performance as it usually does, but rather creating an instrumental force contrast right in the middle of the program. Furthermore, chamber musicians will perform at the audience level, providing a unique and historically accurate performance experience for guests.

Lastly, metamorphosis also represents a change in repertoire. They contemplate a wide range of music from the 16th century to today and proudly present two premieres on April 4, reserved for the final portion of the concert: Witches’ Night and Festival Procession, the latter being the first PC Bands commission in history!

We hope you enjoy the metamorphosis that will unfold before your eyes, amaze your ears, and inundate your spirit!

Presbyterian College Wind Ensemble & Chamber Winds, April 4th, Tuesday, 7:30 pm at Belk Auditorium.

The concert is free and open to the public. Come experience the metamorphosis.
