Methodical Coffee continues growth with expansion in Travelers Rest

May 24, 2022

Methodical Coffee, owner of Greenville’s three local coffee shops and a nationally renowned coffee roaster, has purchased 39,573 square feet of warehouse space in Travelers Rest, SC. Located at 999 Geer Highway, the warehouse will become Methodical’s new production facility and will consolidate their roasting, packaging and shipping operations in one place.

The location will not house a retail coffee shop but will feature a range of other businesses in the space. According to Methodical co-owner Marco Suarez, “The vision for the new location was conceived to not only benefit Methodical, but almost 14,000 square feet will be leased to other like-minded businesses to create a collaborative environment and will be referred to as the Methodical Manufactory.” The space has an industrial look with metal rafters, brick walls, and a concrete floor. The occupancy date is scheduled for early October, 2022.

Methodical Coffee’s space will include:

Production Facility

Methodical will divide the space in a variety of  ways. A large portion of the space will be used for storage of their imported green coffee beans and tea. With larger warehousing space, Methodical will be able to increase the speed of their production capabilities for their coffee and teas. The space will also allow for increased production and distribution of Methodical’s ready-to-drink beverages such as cold brew coffee and cold brew horchata.

Training Lab

Also on-site will be Methodical’s Training Lab, a dedicated space used to educate and train barista employees and wholesale accounts. The lab will offer coffee and tea classes as well as host events for the public.

 Offices

Methodical will have additional office space for running internal operations as well as their ecommerce and wholesale business.

Methodical’s Manufactory’s space will include:

Food Co-working DHEC Kitchen

Methodical will be filling a void in Greenville for food product businesses who need DHEC approved kitchens but lack their own brick and mortar location. There will be over 3,885 square feet of dedicated kitchen space for food producers. This is not a commissary kitchen, therefore each tenant will have their own dedicated workspace and storage area. Two local businesses, Common Pops and Lumineaux Chocolate, are already on board and additional bays are available.

GOAT Climbing Center

The local non-profit GOAT, (Great Outdoor Adventure Trips), will be taking 6,692 square feet to install a climbing center. This will be the only non-profit climbing center in all of South Carolina, offering an exceptional climbing experience for all people with a sliding pay scale to make indoor climbing accessible for everyone, without exception.

Remaining Spaces

Methodical is also looking for another tenant to take a 5,314 square feet space in addition to the bays in the food co-working spot.

The building was purchased from Grace Church and will be located adjacent to their Travelers Rest location. The purchase is being financed by The Bank of Travelers Rest. Along with being an investor in the building, Joseph Fuduric from Watershed Greenville will be the leasing agent for the building. He can be reached at [email protected].
