MG&C Attorney, Tina Herbert, Named South Carolina Young Lawyer of the Year

The law firm of McAngus Goudelock & Courie (MG&C) is pleased to announce that Tina Herbert, an associate in the firm’s Columbia office, has been named South Carolina Young Lawyer of the Year by the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division.

The Young Lawyer of the Year award recognizes an attorney for his or her excellent service and contributions to the legal profession and/or to their community. The award will be presented on May 31st at the House of Delegates Meeting.

Very active in the community, Tina serves as Chair of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division Minority Prelaw Conference, Chair of the W.G. Sanders School Improvement Council, member of the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates, member of the Midlands Fatherhood Coalition Foundation Board, member of the South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs Advisory Committee, and member of the Dreher High School Academy of Finance. In 2006, the Wills Project for Senior Citizens that Tina spearheaded won the South Carolina Bar Pro Bono Award.

Tina’s area of practice at MG&C is workers’ compensation defense. Additionally, she is a certified circuit court mediator. Prior to joining MG&C, she was an associate with the Benjamin Law Firm where her practice emphasized general business matters, litigation (civil and criminal), nonprofit administration, and employment matters. Tina is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Federal District of South Carolina, and the United States Supreme Court.
