Michelin North America President and CEO Matthew Cabe to lead United Way of Greenville County’s 2026 Community Campaign

July 29, 2026

Cabe will lead the Upstate’s largest philanthropic campaign, mobilizing business leaders to fund more than $9 million in annual community investment.

United Way of Greenville County (UWGC) announced Matthew Cabe, President and CEO of Michelin North America, Inc., as Community Campaign Chair for its 2026 campaign.

As Chair, Cabe will serve as the public face and top volunteer leader of the campaign, an annual community engagement effort that reaches tens of thousands of people across the Upstate. In 2025 alone, United Way of Greenville County put $9.4 million to work through grants, direct services and strategic programs, helping more than 60,000 people in our community. He will set the campaign’s strategic direction, chair the Campaign Cabinet of senior executives and civic leaders and personally call on fellow CEOs to deepen their companies’ commitment to the community.

“Matthew believes that getting involved and giving back isn’t just something you do in your free time,” said Meghan Barp, President and CEO of United Way of Greenville County. “He shows up for this community, rolls up his sleeves and inspires the people around him to do the same. That conviction has carried Michelin’s workforce to the top of our giving rolls year after year.”

For five consecutive years, Michelin North America has been UWGC’s No. 1 workplace campaign and its employees give just as generously of their time. Michelin employees turn out for Hands On Greenville Day beautification projects, stuff backpacks for School Tools and bring holiday spirit to children in need through Project Joy. Michelin sites across North America have worked alongside local United Ways for more than 50 years.

“At Michelin, we care about giving people a better way forward and that commitment extends beyond our workplaces and into the communities we call home,” said Cabe. “United Way helps create pathways to opportunity for individuals and families to move forward and I’m honored to work alongside business and community leaders to drive meaningful impact.”
