Midlands Gives Day early giving kicks off April 1

April 1, 2024

Early giving for Midlands Gives, a Central Carolina Community Foundation initiative, starts today and goes through Monday, May 6. This early giving period allows donors to support their favorite nonprofits and help them qualify for sponsorship prizes ahead of Midlands Gives Day on May 7.

During the early giving period, donors can visit MidlandsGives.org and donate to more than 580 participating nonprofit organizations serving 11 counties in the Midlands region, including Calhoun, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland, Saluda, and Sumter counties.

In 2023, donors demonstrated remarkable generosity, raising over $1 million during early giving.

On Tuesday, May 7, Midlands Gives Day, donors can support their favorite organizations online at MidlandsGives.org until 11:59 p.m.

To celebrate our community’s spirit of giving, the Community Foundation is hosting a Midlands Gives Block Party at Segra Park, rain or shine, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Tuesday, May 7. Attendees can look forward to a fun day with games, complimentary hot dogs, popcorn, and soft drinks. Donors attending the Block Party will also have an exciting chance to win prizes by donating at one of the Foundation’s Giving Stations.

“Midlands Gives Day is not only about raising funds; it’s about bringing our community together to make a meaningful difference,” says Erin Johnson, vice president of community investment. “Every donation, no matter the size, can transform lives and strengthen our community.”
