CAYCE, SC – There was a sentimental tone at the Cayce City Council meeting tonight where members of the Cayce City Council voted on a resolution accepting the resignation of a long-time Midlands leader,Cayce Councilman Tim James. Councilmembers joked with James that they might vote no so that he would stay; then tearfully and with words of well wishes, members voted to accept his resignation.

“Tim has always put City before self. He is a wonderful example of a true public servant,” stated Cayce Mayor Elise Partin.

Cayce City Councilman Tim James was honored by local elected officials and community leaders at a reception on June 1st.  At the reception, Representative Kenny Bingham, Senator Nikki Setzler, and other local leaders presented Councilman James with a Resolution from the SC House of Representatives and the SC Senate.
