Midlands Mayors converge at Za’s on Devine for COR Table for Six Event

Columbia Opportunity Resource provides unique opportunity for professionals to dine with regional mayors at Table for Six

Mayor Steve Benjamin, along with six mayors from the Midlands Regional Mayors Forum, will gather to dine at Za’s on Devine with professionals at the Columbia Opportunity Resource (COR) event, Table for Six (TF6), on Feb. 9, 2017. This event allows aspiring leaders in the greater Columbia area to connect with seasoned executives – in this case seven Midlands mayors – over a casual dining experience.

“Table for Six has been one of our most successful programs over the past six years,” said COR Executive Director, Abigail Zeiler. “Attendees love the format change from your typical networking happy hour to a more intimate dinner conducive to open conversation, Q&A and real relationship building.”

Table for Six will take place in the newly renovated private dining room at Za’s on Devine on Wednesday, February 9, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. At this four-course dinner, attendees will have the opportunity to learn what paths our elected officials have taken to become civic leaders and what is happening in the political landscape of the Midlands today.

Za’s –– Devine Street’s locally-owned, Italian-inspired neighborhood restaurant and bar – will provide a relaxed, upscale-casual atmosphere and a fresh, seasonal menu for guests who attend. There is a covered outdoor patio and full bar for guests who wish to stay to have drinks after the event.

“Za’s is well known as a neighborhood gathering place on the Devine Street corridor, and we’re delighted with the chance to bring our community leaders together here,” said Za’s on Devine co-owner, Jeb Babcock. “We hope that our newly renovated private event space can provide a comfortable, inviting atmosphere in which young professionals and leaders can make a real connection.”

Instead of the usual, stuffy networking event, TF6 takes place over a seated dinner to facilitate open and free conversation.

Midlands mayors are excited to share their experience and knowledge with the region’s ascending leaders. “The future of our city depends on the young leaders of today,” said Mayor Benjamin. “The opportunity to break bread with and have meaningful discussion with some of our region’s most engaged young professionals will lead to continued growth, development and innovation for our cities.”

Table hosts include:
Mayor Steve Benjamin – City of Columbia Government
Mayor Elise Partin – City of Cayce
Mayor Hardy King – Town of Irmo
Honorable J. Michael Ross – Town of Blythewood
Mayor Skip Wilson – Town of Chapin, South Carolina
Mayor Steve McDougall – Town of Lexington, SC
Mayor Bobby Horton – City of West Columbia
