Midlands Technical College Foundation Announces Seven New Board Members, Launches New Website

COLUMBIA, SC – Seven local community leaders have joined the Midlands Technical College Foundation Board of Directors for the 2015–2017 term.  The newly elected board members bring extensive talent and experience to the board and join other current board members in advancing the Foundation’s mission to connect people, ideas and resources with Midlands Technical College.

New board members include:

  • Ryan Dukes, Partner and Proprietor Blue Marlin Restaurant and Blue Marlin Signature Catering
  • Randall (Randy) Halfacre, President and CEO, Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center
  • Gwen Hampton, Director of Leadership Development, South Carolina School Boards Association
  • Ernest (Ernie) Magaro, III
  • Joseph (Joe) Powers, Complex Director, Merrill Lynch
  • Michael (Mike) Williams, Site Personnel Manager, Michelin North America
  • David Woolard, Founder and Owner, Midlands Tooling Systems, Inc.

The MTC Foundation develops and nurtures relationships with individuals, businesses, and foundations that allow each to realize their own philanthropic goals through the support of and engagement in the programs and services offered by Midlands Technical College.

In addition, the college’s Office of Advancement, in partnership with the Midlands Technical College Foundation, recently launched a dynamic, new website that will raise awareness of its wide-ranging giving opportunities and how those gifts benefit the students and the community.  On the website, visitors can learn more the importance of private philanthropy and opportunities to support MTC, the various ways they can give, and the impact of that support on students and the community.
