Mike Crapps, Chair of the Lexington County Penny for Progress Commission

On November 4, 2014, the citizens of Lexington County will have the opportunity to address an important question regarding the Penny for Progress in Lexington County. The Penny for Progress program is a funding mechanism for infrastructure needs within Lexington County.

This program has been implemented in other counties in South Carolina such as Aiken, Charleston, Horry, Marion, Newberry, Orangeburg, and York Counties to address infrastructure needs within their respective Counties.

Lexington County has grown in population by 22% in the last ten years and is projected to continue to experience similar growth the next ten years, if not more.
