A Conversation with Mike Crapps, President & CEO, First Community Bank

This year First Community Bank is celebrating its 20th anniversary. How do you deal with all of the changes in the world and survive the ups and downs of the banking industry?  1) you stick to your foundational core values and cultural beliefs and 2) “and you maintain your commitment to do the right thing and doing it in the right way, with great people”.

First Community Bank has experienced significant growth over the last 18 months. From February 2014 to April 2015, the bank acquired Savannah River Banking Company, establishing its Augusta and Aiken locations; opened its first downtown office on Lady Street; completed acquisition of First South’s Columbia deposits and loans; and opened its Blythewood office. They now have 15 banking offices in South Carolina and Georgia.
