Miller-Valentine Group Begins Construction on Veterans Benefits Administration Regional Office

COLUMBIA, SC – June 5, 2008 – Development and construction firm, Miller-Valentine Group, recently broke ground on a new regional office for the Veterans Benefits Administration in Columbia, S.C.
Expected to house over 500 employees, the new office will be developed on approximately ten acres of land on the Dorn VA Hospital campus and is scheduled to be complete in May 2009.
In the fall of 2006, Miller-Valentine Group and Keenan Development pursued the contract to develop and construct the new 116,000-square-foot, Class “A” office building. Miller-Valentine Group will provide design/build construction services to Keenan Development, the owner and developer of the project.
The federal government requirements and complexity of the building has made this a unique and stimulating project. “We’re very excited to have a hand in the new VBA regional office building and are enjoying the different challenges that come with it,” said Doug Putlock, Senior Project Manager for Miller-Valentine Group.
The regional office’s mission plays a critical role to serve our nation’s veterans by providing assistance to them and their families in the southeast region.
